Alex Deane, the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Finchley and Golders Green, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a new block of flats in Golders Green, initiated by the Agudas Israel Housing Association.
In an important step forward for affordable housing in Barnet, this project represents the first development that the association has built in the Borough of Barnet and will deliver 22 100 per cent affordable units for the Orthodox Jewish community.
At the ceremony, Golders Green Councillor Dean Cohen thanked the Trustees and Senior Management of the Agudas Israel Housing Association for working closely with him to deliver this “very important milestone.” Councillor Cohen was integral in bridging the conversation between the Housing Association, as the developer, and Barnet Council to ensure the project’s success.
Commenting, Alex said:
Today marks a significant milestone for the Agudas Israel Housing Association and the local Orthodox Jewish Community. I am proud to stand here alongside Councillor Dean Cohen, without whom this development would not have been possible, to break ground on this important project that will lay the foundation for future generations to thrive.
